Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the rare mobile RPG that respects the small screen. Combat is turn-based and readable, so you always know what each hero will do before you commit. Building your party around elemental combos becomes the whole hook — I lost an evening tweaking a frost-and-lightning setup that finally cracked a boss.

The writing carries it. Characters chat between fights, and the little side stories gave me reasons to keep going long after the main quest ran quiet. It saves anywhere, which fits how you actually play on a phone.

There's some grind in the middle chapters, and menus could use fewer taps. Still, it's a generous adventure that doesn't beg for your attention every hour.
