Fortune Gems 3: a calm evening with a bright little game

I didn't expect much from Fortune Gems 3 when I installed it. Casual grid games are a crowded space, and most of them feel the same after five minutes. But something about the clean layout and the instant loading kept me tapping longer than planned.

The core loop is simple: line up matching gems, clear them, watch the grid react. What makes it work is the feedback. Every match has a little chime and a flash of light that lands right on the beat of your tap. On my phone it never lagged, and I could play the whole thing one-handed.

A small tip from our sessions — don't rush. The game rewards spotting the bigger arrangement before you start clearing, and slowing down for a second or two made my later screens go much smoother. It's not a puzzle you need to solve, more a rhythm you settle into.

Fortune Gems 3 isn't ambitious, and the visuals start repeating after a while. But as a calm, colorful thing to open during a coffee break, it did exactly what I wanted. Sometimes that's enough.
